With Xeditor, creating and managing structured content is quite simple and intuitive. Benefit from the diverse features of the online XML editor.
Xeditor is operated on-premise or via the cloud and can be accessed via any modern browser. Ongoing maintenance can be handled centrally by the IT department.
Xeditor validates XML content even without an existing Internet connection and saves it automatically. When an online connection is established, the content is synchronized back to the web server.
Xeditor provides a WYSIWYG view and displays structured XML content similar to Word. Any elements such as table of contents, footnotes, links, images, etc. are supported.
Xeditor uses XML to validate content in real time (XSD/DTD) and supports the standards of any industry, e.g. DITA, S1000D, DocBook, JATS, as well as custom schemas.
Xeditor supports authors without XML experience, such as Subject Matter Experts, in entering structured content, even within complex document structures.
Xeditor can be integrated into any existing content management system via interfaces. Ongoing maintenance can be handled centrally by the IT department.
Large Document Support
Xeditor enables smooth viewing and editing even for documents with more than 1,000 pages.
Drag & Drop
Xeditor allows moving content as well as entries in the table of contents by mouse.
Search & Replace
Search & replace is possible for both content and structural elements such as attributes.
Configurable User Interface
Xeditor has a configurable user interface including language and provides automatic support for Unicode languages.
Xeditor provides interfaces for all relevant 3rd party applications: Acrolinx, for example, helps to match the "Tone of Voice" of a brand. Edifix automates the management of reference lists.
Xeditor implements the WAI-ARIA standard for accessibility, enabling all users to work productively with Xeditor and create structured content.
If Xeditor is linked to a backend, such as a CCMS or CMS, individuals can be given different permissions. The distribution of roles is already done during Integration & Configuration and defines which role has which rights to edit documents.
Change tracking highlights all changes to text as well as elements for all users - whether they are working in intuitive, technical, or XML editor mode. Changes can be accepted or rejected depending on the role.
With Xeditor, users can communicate with each other and quickly agree on the correct content. Annotations to text, a table or an image are possible; comments can be marked as read.
Xeditor provides real-time validation of created content against a set of rules, XML Schema (XSD) or Document Type Definition (DTD).
