Xpublisher wins Fabasoft AG as strategic partner
We are pleased to announce that we have been able to win Fabasoft AG as a strategic investor for our company. Fabasoft AG, headquartered in Linz, Austria, is one of the leading software product companies and cloud service providers for digital document management and electronic document, process and file management in Europe.
The purchase and investment agreement signed yesterday stipulates that Fabasoft AG will acquire a total of 60% of the shares in Xpublisher GmbH, based in Munich. 40% of the shares will be subscribed for in the course of a capital increase of Xpublisher GmbH and 20% through the acquisition of shares from the founders and previous shareholders. The founding shareholders Matthias Kraus and Thomas Werzmirzovsky will continue to hold a joint 40% stake and will continue to drive expansion in Europe and North America as managing directors.
With our products we are specialized in content technologies and are present in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and North America. Our customers from the publishing, media and industry sectors benefit from the fully integrated functions of the professional cross-media editing system Xpublisher and the browser-based XML editor Xeditor.
Fabasoft AG's portfolio includes the digitization, simplification and quality enhancement of business processes. "In addition, with our cloud competence and sales activities in Europe and America, we can leverage strategic synergies for further growth," says Helmut Fallmann, Member of the Board of Fabasoft AG, pleased with the cooperation. "We are firmly convinced that we have found the ideal strategic partner in Fabasoft and that this support will enable us to take our company and our products to the next level," adds Xpublisher CEO Matthias Kraus.
For example, we are planning to integrate the browser-based XML editor "Xeditor" into Fabasoft's product range of e-government and cloud products. In future, the Xpublisher editorial system will also be available as a Software-as-a-Service on a European cloud platform. "This makes it possible for teams to work together on content with all compliance and governance requirements," says board member Fallmann, seeing the German-Austrian cooperation as an alternative to the collaboration sets of the US-dominated provider scene such as Google. The Fabasoft subsidiary Mindbreeze's search engine technology can also contribute further functionalities for Xpublisher.
