Everyone learns in his own way and needs learning and training materials that support him optimally. In this way, new channels are constantly being established to supplement traditional teaching, and it is no longer possible to imagine the educational sector without them. Publishers are therefore faced with the challenge of producing learning media of all kinds for different channels without increased time and cost expenditure.
The use of media-neutral content is the prerequisite for individualizing and publishing learning and exercise materials on different channels. Such structured content is often specified in the education sector in the form of XML standards such as SCORM, LTI or QTI. In addition to the highest data quality, they guarantee the automatic provision and reuse of didactic texts. This content-first approach enables all producers of educational media to maintain and easily expand the variety of formats or channels, from print to digital, in a resource-saving manner. Our products Xeditor and Xpublisher make it possible.
With Xeditor and its intuitive, Word-like user interface, authors can easily create and edit media-neutral learning content, including in-depth material and examples, and intelligent exercise materials with solution and feedback logic based on the QTI standard. This eliminates the need to manually reformat the content before each use on the different channels. The online XML editor runs in any modern browser and supports the traceable collaboration of all authors and editors in creating, editing and reviewing media-neutral content in real time - even simultaneously and from anywhere in the world.
All content is centrally managed in the online editorial system Xpublisher for Learning Content and enriched with other media assets such as graphics or photos. The integrated BPMN workflow engine controls all processes and ensures a smooth exchange between project participants. Professional production planning forms the basis for partially or fully automated publications. In addition, Xpublisher for Learning Content has interfaces to desktop tools such as Adobe® InDesignTM for high-quality, layout-intensive educational materials or questions, tests, and math and chemistry formulas. The media-neutral data, which is always up-to-date thanks to bidirectional synchronization, makes it possible to compile content and assets individually with minimal manual effort and to prepare them for output in a new end product, even in several languages. The connection of 3rd party applications such as Moodle or other LMS (Learning Management Systems or learning platforms) is carried out via our delivery API.
