Publishing group Hüthig Jehle Rehm opts for Xpublisher

Munich, March 13, 2018 - The Hüthig Jehle Rehm publishing group, a renowned German publisher in the fields of public administration, payroll accounting and data protection, produces its media-neutral loose-leaf publications with the innovative, web-based XML editing system Xpublisher.

Xpublisher replaces the current desktop-based editorial and production system. A particular advantage for the publishing group is Xpublisher's integrated, intuitive XML editor, Xeditor. It enables authors and editors to work without problems and without deep technical knowledge of XML. Thanks to the state-of-the-art architecture and flexibility of the editorial system, Xpublisher maps the complexity of loose-leaf works and their extensive reference logic. With the conversion to XML schema from the former DTD for data validation, there are also new and expanded options for ensuring consistently high document quality.

The project for the implementation of Xpublisher was developed agilely according to SCRUM in order to react as quickly as possible to changed requirements and priorities. The future users were involved in the ongoing development at an early stage through reviews and were able to give feedback directly.

Rainer Donhauser, Production Manager of the publishing group: "It was not an easy decision to replace our 15-year-old SGML/XML-based editorial and production system: A perfectly coordinated system, with which the most complicated loose-leaf works as well as the highly differentiated multiple use of content and media-neutral production were realised. With the browser-based XML editing system Xpublisher, we have found a system and with the Xpublisher team a development partner with whom we can map our complex production paths and rely on future-oriented technology. After intensive and fruitful two years of development, the relocation of the productions now begins. The developers of Xpublisher approached the matter with great motivation and got to grips with our topics extremely quickly. We are very happy about the good partnership".
